When is it?

The conference will will be on September 12th and will start at 10:00am. We are asking all attendees to try to arrive between 9:30 and 9:45 to allow time for registration and getting a seat.

How long will it last?

The last Q&A session is scheduled to start at 3:30 and runs until 4:30 on the schedule, but we will let that session run long if there are additional questions.

Where will the event be held?

The event will be held in a tent in the field next to Turtle Haven Rd. in Youngsville, NC. Click here for directions.

Where do I park?

Parking is in the field on-site.  There will be volunteer staff there to direct you when you arrive. 

The event is in a tent; will there be restrooms?

Yes, porta-potties will be available on-site.

Can I bring my child?

Yes, children are welcome (please register each child that will be attending that will need lunch) and there will be a location for nursing mothers if you prefer privacy when nursing. Separate child care will not be provided.

Do I need to wear a mask?

As this is a church event, and while you are certainly welcome to wear a mask, we are not requiring attendees to wear masks. For those who are concerned by this we would encourage you to register for the live-stream [link to live stream sign-up].

What does in-person attendance registration cover?

Your $5 registration covers one attendee, and includes

  • Admission to all presentations and Q&A panels
  • Parking
  • Lunch
    • Lunch includes a pre-made, individually-wrapped cold-cut sandwiches, chips, drink and dessert.
    • Note: Only pre-registered attendees are guaranteed a lunch.  You are welcome to register on-site, but we may not have enough lunches for you as we need to prepare food in advance
    • If you have special dietary needs, you are welcome to bring your own lunch. 

What does streaming attendance registration cover?

Your $10 registration covers

  • Access to all presentations and Q&A panels
  • Downloadable resource packet
I haven’t made the decision to homeschool yet, will this be applicable?

Yes! This will provide a realistic approach, practical advice and some perspectives that are important to consider as you decide whether to homeschool.

My kid(s) are not school-aged yet; is it too early to attend something like this?

Not at all.  This is a great time to consider and thoughtfully develop your overall approach to how you homeschool.

Can I bring my dog (or other pet)?

We respectfully ask that you leave all pets at home.

Who is the conference for?

The conference is for anyone who is considering homeschooling and who has questions. The goal is to help address the subject of homeschooling head on, to help reduce people’s fear and eliminate, as much as possible, any mystery surrounding what is required to teach your children at home.

Is this a church event?

While the event is being hosted by Reformation Baptist Church, the purpose of the event is not to preach or evangelize. We will not be taking up an offering or requesting donations. For several years, the members of our church have been looking for opportunities to be a blessing to the community and we feel that in the current situation we have helpful insights to offer.

Will there be preaching?

No. While the talks and the answers of the panelists will definitely be informed by our background, our experiences and by what we believe to be the truth of God’s word, we will not be preaching in any of the talks. As you can see from the schedule we are dedicating twice as much time to Q&A sessions as we are to giving talks so that people can have their questions answered.

Can I watch it online?

Yes. On the registration page, there is a section to register for live streaming.

Why is there a charge for the streaming? Why aren’t you using a free service instead?

Our experience has been that the free services offer fairly poor quality particularly as the number of people streaming the event goes up. Also, with a free service there is no customer support. Once you have registered you will receive a confirmation email and then closer to the event, you will receive sign-on information. 

What if I can’t afford to pay for the streaming service?

If you cannot afford the streaming service and cannot attend in person, please email  for assistance.
